Jumping Around Jalak
Ok, as well as our Game For Jalak, I thought I'd do a little bit on jumping.
Even though I have only raised the columns here one step, these jumps are exactly the same regardless of the height.
When I say walk-jump, that is pressing the walk key and jump key together from a standing position.
When I say run-jump, that is holding down the run key, then press the walk key & jump together from a standing position.
When I say a running-jump, that is a run-jump as above, but your avatar is running, not from a standing position.

This jump can be done with a run-jump (as I have done here) or a walk-jump if you jump from the edge.
If you run-jump from the edge you may overshoot your landing spot.
If you run-jump from the edge you may overshoot your landing spot.
This jump from here is best done with a run-jump. Line up corner to corner and run-jump.
Because the colum you are trying to jump to is one step higher and a column away, this jump requires a run-jump.
As I have done here, if you jump from the edge, you'll land at the back edge of your target column.
If the target column is one step higher than this, you won't make the jump.

This jump looks more tricky than it is, start from the corner of your column and line up with the middle of your target column ... then run-jump.
My picture shows where you will probably land.

This target column is two columns away and can be jumped, if you run-jump from the edge.
You will land on the edge of your target column.
If your target column is either side of the one in this picture,
jump from the corner nearest your target column and aim for the corner on your target nearest your starting column.

This jump does not look possible, but it is. Line up corner to corner, as if you were going to make a run-jump from standing,
then back up and run at your starting column's corner.
Just as your avatar is off the edge (there is a tiny little bit off the edge you can jump from) Jump.
You avatar will just make the corner of your target column.
then back up and run at your starting column's corner.
